One of the goods that is known as a strategic commodity in our country is rubber. And along with that, lubricants for the rubber industry are also of particular importance. In this section, the country’s rubber industry will be examined first, and then lubricants related to this field will be introduced.
For this reason, the rubber industry is one of the most important industries in the country, which is directly related to the petrochemical and automotive industries. Also, the possibility of exporting to countries in the Middle East is another reason for justifying the establishment of this industry in Iran. According to statistics, the number of people employed in this industry is more than 16 thousand people. Similarly, by examining the value chain of the automotive industry, we also realize the important role of the rubber industry.Another industry directly involved in this industry is the transportation sector, where economic development depends on giving importance to both of these.

In the field of tire evolution, it can be stated that this process started with wooden and metal tires, then in 1844, rubber was used for the first time and tire tread was gradually added to it. Ply tires also came to the market years later, but were less popular than expected. In 1888, Dunlop invented the pneumatic tire, and finally, 1930 can be considered the year of the official start of the use of modern tires. Tires with a wire-ply structure inside were also introduced in 1939, and then came the turn of radial and full-ply tires.Rubber process oils used in the rubber industry include the following:

Paraffinic oils

Good oxidation and thermal stability

Can be used in EP elastomers

Aromatic oils

Used in natural rubber and neoprene, benzene, xylene, etc.
