Usually, the most common methods of generating electricity are thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants. Some of them are briefly mentioned below.

Thermal power plant

In this method, the turbine is used to rotate the generator. In this situation, the turbine is of two types, the steam turbine and the water turbine. In a thermal power plant, coal is used as fuel so that the steam produced from this heat drives the steam turbine and the generator also rotates. In fact, this fuel is used to create steam with high temperature and pressure in the boiler. Of course, this method has a lot of pollution and an example of this pollution is the ash produced daily in the power plant facilities.

Hydroelectric power plants

In these power plants, the water used to start the water turbine coupled with the generator is utilized.In its natural state, this high-pressure water comes from the heights, such as natural water reservoirs such as lakes. However, to produce pressure artificially, it is possible to mention the creation of a dam on the river. Therefore, the location of these power plants depends largely on the location of the water used. Compared to thermal power plants, these types of facilities have less pollution and produce electricity cleanly, and are thus environmentally friendly.

Nuclear Power Plants

As is known, coal fuel reserves are unlimited and their relative shortage is a threat to thermal power plants based on this type of fuel. According to estimates presented in the world, it is only possible to exploit these reserves in the next 30 to 40 years if these reservoirs are withdrawn at the same rate of consumption.Therefore, nuclear power plants are an alternative to this, which are capable of producing very large amounts of energy in large quantities. Of course, the initial investment for establishing this type of power plant is very high, but the costs of starting up and operating it are very low. Although, in terms of pollution, it may be said that it does not include air pollution, but in terms of the radioactivity of the raw materials resulting from the leakage of the reactors used, they are criticized.
