If we consider the oil industry as the largest industry in the country, the automotive industry is the second largest industry in our country. One of the honors that the automotive industry received in 2009 was that it ranked 5th in the world in terms of industrial development growth rate. In this ranking, Iran was ranked after countries such as China, Taiwan, Romania, and finally India.

In terms of local and domestic production in Iran, the two largest automotive giants in Iran, Saipa and Iran Khodro, are active alongside other companies, and more than half of the automotive production is carried out in Saipa, which is a statistic from 2008. Despite the listing of these two automakers on the Tehran Stock Exchange, a significant portion of their shares still belong to the government.Other domestic automakers include Bahman Group, Kerman Motors, Rakhsh Khodro, Kish Khodro, Raniran, Tractor Sazi, Shahab Khodro, etc., which have a small share compared to these two automobile manufacturing giants. The products of these companies include trucks of various sizes, motorcycles, passenger cars, vans, buses, and minibuses.
